मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-62

इष्टापूर्तायुषां हन्त्री परदारगतिर्नृणाम् ।
न हीदृशमनायुष्यं लोके किञ्चन विद्यते ॥६२॥
62. iṣṭāpūrtāyuṣāṃ hantrī paradāragatirnṛṇām .
na hīdṛśamanāyuṣyaṃ loke kiñcana vidyate.
62. iṣṭāpūrtāyuṣām hantrī paradāragatiḥ nṛṇām |
na hi īdṛśam anāyuṣyam loke kiñcana vidyate
62. For men, illicit contact with another's wife destroys their desired sacrifices, charitable deeds, and lifespan. Indeed, there is nothing in this world that shortens one's life as much as such an act.
