मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-32

गुरूणामासनं देयमभ्युत्थानादिसत्कृतम् ।
अनुकूलं तथालापमभिवादनपूर्वकम् ॥३२॥
32. gurūṇāmāsanaṃ deyamabhyutthānādisatkṛtam .
anukūlaṃ tathālāpamabhivādanapūrvakam.

32. A seat should be offered to teachers (guru), accompanied by rising from one's place and other respectful gestures. Similarly, conversation should be favorable and preceded by salutation.
