मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-114

तत्र नित्यं वसेत् प्राज्ञः कुतः कुनृपतौ सुखम् ।
यत्राप्रधृष्यो नृपतिर्यत्र शस्यवती मही ॥११४॥
114. tatra nityaṃ vaset prājñaḥ kutaḥ kunṛpatau sukham .
yatrāpradhṛṣyo nṛpatiryatra śasyavatī mahī.

114. A wise person should always reside in a place where the king is invincible and the land is fertile. From where can there be happiness with a bad king?
