मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-65

आचामेत् पुत्र पुण्याभिः प्राङ्मुखोदङ्मुखोऽपि वा ।
अन्तर्जलादावसथाद्वल्मीकान्मूषिकस्थलात् ॥६५॥
65. ācāmet putra puṇyābhiḥ prāṅmukhodaṅmukho'pi vā .
antarjalādāvasathādvalmīkānmūṣikasthalāt.
65. ācāmet putra puṇyābhiḥ prāṅmukha udaṅmukhaḥ api

65. O son, one should perform the ritual sipping of water (ācamana) with pure water, facing either east or north, [but not from locations like] within standing water, a dwelling, an anthill, or a mouse-hole.
