मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-74

पूर्वाह्ने तात देवानां मनुष्याणाञ्च मध्यमे ।
भक्त्या तथापराह्ने च कुर्वोत पितृपूजनम् ॥७४॥
74. pūrvāhne tāta devānāṃ manuṣyāṇāñca madhyame .
bhaktyā tathāparāhne ca kurvota pitṛpūjanam.

bhaktyā tathā aparāhṇe ca kurvota pitṛpūjanam
74. My dear son, one should worship the gods in the forenoon, humans at midday, and similarly, perform ancestor worship (pitṛpūjanam) in the afternoon with devotion (bhakti).
