मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-110

युगपज्जलमग्निञ्च बिभृयान्न विचक्षणः ।
गुरुदेवान् प्रति तथा न च पादौ प्रसारयेत् ॥११०॥
110. yugapajjalamagniñca bibhṛyānna vicakṣaṇaḥ .
gurudevān prati tathā na ca pādau prasārayet.

110. A discerning person should not carry both water and fire at the same time. Similarly, one should not stretch out their feet towards gurus (guru) and deities.
