मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-14

प्रत्यवायभयात् काम्यस्तथान्यश्चाविरोधवान् ।
द्विधा कामोऽपि गदितस्त्रिवर्गस्याविरोधतः ॥१४॥
14. pratyavāyabhayāt kāmyastathānyaścāvirodhavān .
dvidhā kāmo'pi gaditastrivargasyāvirodhataḥ.
14. pratyavāyabhayāt kāmyaḥ tathā anyaḥ ca avirodhavān
| dvidhā kāmaḥ api gaditaḥ trivargasya avirodhataḥ
14. Actions motivated by desire (kāmya karma) can arise from the fear of transgression, and another kind is that which is non-conflicting (with righteous conduct). Furthermore, desire (kāma) itself is declared to be of two types when it does not contradict the three human aims (dharma, artha, and kāma).
