अहोरात्रांश्च मासांश्च क्षणान्काष्ठाः कला लवान् ।
संपिण्डयति नः कालो वृद्धिं वार्धुषिको यथा ॥९७॥

97. ahorātrāṁśca māsāṁśca kṣaṇānkāṣṭhāḥ kalā lavān ,
saṁpiṇḍayati naḥ kālo vṛddhiṁ vārdhuṣiko yathā.

97. Just as a usurer (money-lender) accumulates interest, so does Time (kāla) gather for us days and nights, months, moments, kāṣṭhās, kalās, and lavās (all units of time).
