राजा श्रान्तो जगतो विक्षतश्च कर्णेन संख्ये निशितैर्बाणसंघैः ।
तस्मात्पार्थ त्वां परुषाण्यवोचत्कर्णे द्यूतं ह्यद्य रणे निबद्धम् ॥६४॥

Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) said: "The king (Yudhiṣṭhira) is weary of the world and wounded by Karṇa's sharp volleys of arrows in battle. Therefore, O Pārtha, he spoke harsh words to you. Indeed, today in battle, the entire struggle (dyūtam) is focused on Karṇa."
