महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-5, verse-69

कच्चित्स्वनुष्ठिता तात वार्त्ता ते साधुभिर्जनैः ।
वार्त्तायां संश्रितस्तात लोकोऽयं सुखमेधते ॥६९॥

69. kaccitsvanuṣṭhitā tāta vārttā te sādhubhirjanaiḥ ,
vārttāyāṁ saṁśritastāta loko'yaṁ sukhamedhate.

69. kaccit svanuṣṭhitā tāta vārttā te sādhubhiḥ janaiḥ
vārttāyām saṃśritaḥ tāta lokaḥ ayam sukham edhate

69. My dear son, is your (people's) economic activity (vārttā) well-managed by honest individuals? For, dear son, by depending on that economic activity (vārttā), these people prosper happily.
