महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-5, verse-45

कच्चिद्भयादुपनतं क्लीबं वा रिपुमागतम् ।
युद्धे वा विजितं पार्थ पुत्रवत्परिरक्षसि ॥४५॥
45. kaccidbhayādupanataṁ klībaṁ vā ripumāgatam ,
yuddhe vā vijitaṁ pārtha putravatparirakṣasi.
45. kaccit bhayāt upanatam klībam vā ripum āgatam
yuddhe vā vijitam pārtha putravat parirakṣasi
45. O Pārtha, I trust that you protect like a son an enemy who has approached you out of fear and is helpless, or one who has been defeated in battle.
