महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-149, verse-93

भानुर्यावन्न यात्यस्तं यावच्च विमला दिशः ।
तावदेनं परित्यज्य प्रेतकार्याण्युपासत ॥९३॥

93. bhānuryāvanna yātyastaṁ yāvacca vimalā diśaḥ ,
tāvadenaṁ parityajya pretakāryāṇyupāsata.

93. As long as the sun has not set, and as long as the directions are clear, until then, abandoning this [corpse], perform the rites for the departed (preta-kārya).
