महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-114, verse-99

यश्च दत्तो वरो मह्यं पित्रा तेन महात्मना ।
छन्दतो मृत्युरित्येवं तस्य चास्तु वरस्तथा ॥९९॥
99. yaśca datto varo mahyaṁ pitrā tena mahātmanā ,
chandato mṛtyurityevaṁ tasya cāstu varastathā.
99. yaḥ ca dattaḥ varaḥ mahyam pitrā tena mahātmanā
chandataḥ mṛtyuḥ iti evam tasya ca astu varaḥ tathā
99. ca yaḥ varaḥ tena mahātmanā pitrā mahyam dattaḥ ca
tasya mṛtyuḥ chandataḥ iti evaṃ tathā varaḥ astu
99. And that boon which was given to me by that great-souled father, 'death by one's own will' – let that boon likewise be his.
