महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-114, verse-59

नाशयन्तीव मे प्राणान्यमदूता इवाहिताः ।
गदापरिघसंस्पर्शा नेमे बाणाः शिखण्डिनः ॥५९॥
59. nāśayantīva me prāṇānyamadūtā ivāhitāḥ ,
gadāparighasaṁsparśā neme bāṇāḥ śikhaṇḍinaḥ.
59. nāśayanti iva me prāṇān yamadūtāḥ iva āhitāḥ
gadā-parigha-saṃsparśāḥ na ime bāṇāḥ śikhaṇḍinaḥ
59. āhitāḥ yamadūtāḥ iva,
(yeṣāṃ) gadā-parigha-saṃsparśāḥ (te ime bāṇāḥ) me prāṇān nāśayanti iva.

59. These arrows are not Śikhaṇḍin’s. They seem to destroy my vital airs (prāṇa) like hostile messengers of Yama, with a touch like maces and iron bars.
