कारके राहुयुक्ते वा सर्पशापात् सुतक्षयः ॥१६॥

If the lord of the ascendant (lagneśa) is conjoined with Rāhu, and the lord of the fifth house (putreśa) is conjoined with Mars (bhoma), or if the significator (kāraka) of children is conjoined with Rāhu, then there will be a loss of children (sutakṣaya) due to a serpent's curse (sarpaśāpa).
