If the Sun (bhānu) and Saturn (manda) are situated in the fifth house (putrasthā), or if the lord of the fifth house (putreśa) is the Sun, Mercury (śaśija), or Jupiter (aṅgirā), and the lord of the fifth house (putreśa) and the lord of the ascendant (lagneśa) are both weak (nirbalau), then there will be a loss of children (sutakṣaya) due to a serpent's curse (sarpaśāpa).
