महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-4, verse-2

दुष्प्रणीतेन मे तात मनसाभिप्लुतात्मनः ।
हतं वैकर्तनं श्रुत्वा शोको मर्माणि कृन्तति ॥२॥
2. duṣpraṇītena me tāta manasābhiplutātmanaḥ ,
hataṁ vaikartanaṁ śrutvā śoko marmāṇi kṛntati.

2. O dear one (tāta), for me, whose being (ātman) is overwhelmed by an ill-guided mind, upon hearing that Vikartana's son (Karṇa) has been slain, sorrow pierces my vital parts.
