महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-4, verse-108

मुह्यमानोऽब्रवीच्चापि मुहूर्तं तिष्ठ संजय ।
व्याकुलं मे मनस्तात श्रुत्वा सुमहदप्रियम् ।
नष्टचित्तस्ततः सोऽथ बभूव जगतीपतिः ॥१०८॥
108. muhyamāno'bravīccāpi muhūrtaṁ tiṣṭha saṁjaya ,
vyākulaṁ me manastāta śrutvā sumahadapriyam ,
naṣṭacittastataḥ so'tha babhūva jagatīpatiḥ.
108. muhyamānaḥ abravīt ca api muhūrtam
tiṣṭha saṃjaya vyākulam me manaḥ tāta
śrutvā sumahat apriyam naṣṭacittaḥ
tataḥ saḥ atha babhūva jagatīpatiḥ
108. muhyamānaḥ ca api abravīt - "saṃjaya,
muhūrtam tiṣṭhatāta,
sumahat apriyam śrutvā me manaḥ vyākulam [asti]।
" tataḥ atha saḥ naṣṭacittaḥ jagatīpatiḥ babhūva।
108. And being utterly bewildered, he also said, 'Wait for a moment, Saṃjaya! My mind, dear one, is greatly agitated after hearing such extremely unpleasant news.' Then, with his consciousness lost, that lord of the earth (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) became completely distraught.
