महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-112, verse-96

चोरयित्वा पयश्चापि बलाका संप्रजायते ।
यस्तु चोरयते तैलं तैलपायी प्रजायते ।
चोरयित्वा तु दुर्बुद्धिर्मधु दंशः प्रजायते ॥९६॥
96. corayitvā payaścāpi balākā saṁprajāyate ,
yastu corayate tailaṁ tailapāyī prajāyate ,
corayitvā tu durbuddhirmadhu daṁśaḥ prajāyate.

samprajāyate yaḥ tu corayate tailam

96. One who steals milk is also reborn as a crane. But whoever steals oil is reborn as an oil-drinking insect. A foolish person who steals honey is indeed reborn as a gadfly.
