महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-112, verse-30

ततोऽस्य कर्म पश्यन्ति शुभं वा यदि वाशुभम् ।
देवताः पञ्चभूतस्थाः किं भूयः श्रोतुमिच्छसि ॥३०॥
30. tato'sya karma paśyanti śubhaṁ vā yadi vāśubham ,
devatāḥ pañcabhūtasthāḥ kiṁ bhūyaḥ śrotumicchasi.
30. tataḥ asya karma paśyanti śubham vā yadi vā aśubham
devatāḥ pañcabhūtasthāḥ kim bhūyaḥ śrotum icchasi
30. tataḥ pañcabhūtasthāḥ devatāḥ asya karma śubham vā
yadi vā aśubham paśyanti kim bhūyaḥ śrotum icchasi
30. Then, the deities presiding over the five elements observe his actions (karma), whether good or bad. What more do you wish to hear?
