महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-112, verse-110

स्त्रियोऽप्येतेन कल्पेन कृत्वा पापमवाप्नुयुः ।
एतेषामेव जन्तूनां पत्नीत्वमुपयान्ति ताः ॥११०॥
110. striyo'pyetena kalpena kṛtvā pāpamavāpnuyuḥ ,
eteṣāmeva jantūnāṁ patnītvamupayānti tāḥ.
110. striyaḥ api etena kalpena kṛtvā pāpam avāpnuyuḥ
eteṣām eva jantūnām patnītvaṃ upayānti tāḥ
110. striyaḥ api etena kalpena pāpam kṛtvā avāpnuyuḥ
tāḥ eteṣām eva jantūnām patnītvaṃ upayānti
110. Even women, having committed sin in this manner, would incur its consequences. They would then attain the state of being wives to these very lowly creatures (jantu).
