महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-112, verse-61

छागस्तु निधनं प्राप्य पूर्णे संवत्सरे ततः ।
कीटः संजायते जन्तुस्ततो जायति मानुषः ॥६१॥
61. chāgastu nidhanaṁ prāpya pūrṇe saṁvatsare tataḥ ,
kīṭaḥ saṁjāyate jantustato jāyati mānuṣaḥ.
61. chāgaḥ tu nidhanam prāpya pūrṇe saṃvatsare tataḥ
| kīṭaḥ saṃjāyate jantuḥ tataḥ jāyati mānuṣaḥ
61. After a full year, the goat, having met its end, is reborn as a creature, an insect. Thereafter, it is finally reborn as a human being.
