महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-112, verse-25

बृहस्पतिरुवाच ।
अन्नमश्नन्ति ये देवाः शरीरस्था नरेश्वर ।
पृथिवी वायुराकाशमापो ज्योतिर्मनस्तथा ॥२५॥
25. bṛhaspatiruvāca ,
annamaśnanti ye devāḥ śarīrasthā nareśvara ,
pṛthivī vāyurākāśamāpo jyotirmanastathā.

nareśvara pṛthivī vāyuḥ ākāśam āpaḥ jyotiḥ manaḥ tathā

vāyuḥ ākāśam āpaḥ jyotiḥ manaḥ tathā annam aśnanti
25. Brihaspati said: 'O lord of men, the deities residing in the body—namely, earth, air, ether, water, fire, and likewise the mind—they consume food.'
