महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-281, verse-73

नक्तंचराश्चरन्त्येते हृष्टाः क्रूराभिभाषिणः ।
श्रूयन्ते पर्णशब्दाश्च मृगाणां चरतां वने ॥७३॥
73. naktaṁcarāścarantyete hṛṣṭāḥ krūrābhibhāṣiṇaḥ ,
śrūyante parṇaśabdāśca mṛgāṇāṁ caratāṁ vane.
73. naktaṃcarāḥ caranti ete hṛṣṭāḥ krūrābhibhāṣiṇaḥ
śrūyante parṇaśabdāḥ ca mṛgāṇām caratām vane
73. These nocturnal creatures, joyful and making harsh sounds, are roaming. And the rustling of leaves is heard from the wild animals moving about in the forest.
