महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-137, verse-69

उपगुह्य हि वैराणि सान्त्वयन्ति नराधिपाः ।
अथैनं प्रतिपिंषन्ति पूर्णं घटमिवाश्मनि ॥६९॥

69. upaguhya hi vairāṇi sāntvayanti narādhipāḥ ,
athainaṁ pratipiṁṣanti pūrṇaṁ ghaṭamivāśmani.

69. Indeed, kings, while concealing their enmities, outwardly conciliate. Then, they crush their opponent, just as a full pot is shattered against a stone.
