सत्कृतस्यार्थमानाभ्यां स्यात्तु पूर्वापकारिणः ।
नैव शान्तिर्न विश्वासः कर्म त्रासयते बलात् ॥४३॥

43. But for a former offender, even if he is honored with wealth and respect, there is certainly neither peace nor trust; his past action (karma) forcibly causes terror.
