महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-88, verse-76

नृशंसेन च वो युक्तांस्त्यजेयं शाश्वतीः समाः ।
काले हि समनुप्राप्ते त्यक्तव्यमपि जीवितम् ॥७६॥
76. nṛśaṁsena ca vo yuktāṁstyajeyaṁ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ ,
kāle hi samanuprāpte tyaktavyamapi jīvitam.
76. nṛśaṃsena ca vaḥ yuktān tyajeyaṃ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ
kāle hi samanuprāpte tyaktavyam api jīvitam
76. And I would abandon you forever if you were to become associated with such cruelty. For indeed, when the opportune moment has fully arrived, even life itself must be relinquished.
