महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-88, verse-71

जीवनाशं प्रनष्टानां श्राद्धं कुर्वन्ति मानवाः ।
अर्थतस्ते मम मृतास्तेषां चाहं जनार्दन ॥७१॥
71. jīvanāśaṁ pranaṣṭānāṁ śrāddhaṁ kurvanti mānavāḥ ,
arthataste mama mṛtāsteṣāṁ cāhaṁ janārdana.
