महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-173, verse-83

नित्येन ब्रह्मचर्येण लिङ्गमस्य यदा स्थितम् ।
महयन्ति च लोकाश्च महेश्वर इति स्मृतः ॥८३॥
83. nityena brahmacaryeṇa liṅgamasya yadā sthitam ,
mahayanti ca lokāśca maheśvara iti smṛtaḥ.

83. When his emblem (liṅga) is established through constant celibacy (brahmacarya), the worlds (lokas) glorify him, and he is thus remembered as Maheśvara.
