महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-173, verse-55

ते तमूचुर्महात्मानं सर्वे देवाः सवासवाः ।
रुद्र रौद्रा भविष्यन्ति पशवः सर्वकर्मसु ।
निपातयिष्यसे चैनानसुरान्भुवनेश्वर ॥५५॥
55. te tamūcurmahātmānaṁ sarve devāḥ savāsavāḥ ,
rudra raudrā bhaviṣyanti paśavaḥ sarvakarmasu ,
nipātayiṣyase cainānasurānbhuvaneśvara.
55. te tam ūcuḥ mahātmānam sarve devāḥ
sa-vāsavāḥ rudra raudrāḥ bhaviṣyanti
paśavaḥ sarva-karmasu nipātayiṣyase
ca enān asurān bhuvana-īśvara
55. sarve sa-vāsavāḥ devāḥ te tam

55. All the gods, with Indra, said to that great-souled one (mahātman): 'O Rudra, in all sacrificial rites, the fierce ones will become sacrificial victims. And you, O Lord of the Worlds, will strike down these demons.'
