महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-83, verse-75

श्रवणात्तस्य तीर्थस्य नामसंकीर्तनादपि ।
मृत्तिकालम्भनाद्वापि नरः पापात्प्रमुच्यते ॥७५॥
75. śravaṇāttasya tīrthasya nāmasaṁkīrtanādapi ,
mṛttikālambhanādvāpi naraḥ pāpātpramucyate.
75. śravaṇāt tasya tīrthasya nāmasaṃkīrtanāt api
mṛttikālambhanāt vā api naraḥ pāpāt pramucyate
75. By hearing of that sacred place (tīrtha), by chanting its name, or by anointing with its clay, a person is liberated from sin (pāpa).
