महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-83, verse-25

तत्रेशानं समभ्यर्च्य त्रिरात्रोपोषितो नरः ।
दशाश्वमेधमाप्नोति गाणपत्यं च विन्दति ।
उष्य द्वादशरात्रं तु कृतात्मा भवते नरः ॥२५॥
25. tatreśānaṁ samabhyarcya trirātropoṣito naraḥ ,
daśāśvamedhamāpnoti gāṇapatyaṁ ca vindati ,
uṣya dvādaśarātraṁ tu kṛtātmā bhavate naraḥ.

trirātropoṣitaḥ naraḥ daśāśvamedham āpnoti
gāṇapatyam ca vindati uṣya
dvādaśarātram tu kṛtātmā bhavate naraḥ

25. There, a person who has worshipped Īśāna and fasted for three nights attains the merit of ten horse-Vedic rituals (aśvamedha) and achieves the state of a Gaṇapati. Moreover, by residing there for twelve nights, that person indeed becomes a perfected being (kṛtātman).
