महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-83, verse-38

दण्डकारण्यमासाद्य महाराज उपस्पृशेत् ।
गोसहस्रफलं तत्र स्नातमात्रस्य भारत ॥३८॥
38. daṇḍakāraṇyamāsādya mahārāja upaspṛśet ,
gosahasraphalaṁ tatra snātamātrasya bhārata.

38. O great king, having reached the Daṇḍaka forest, one should perform ablutions there. O Bhārata, merely by bathing at that spot, one obtains the merit of (giving) a thousand cows.
