महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-83, verse-36

सर्वदेवह्रदे स्नात्वा गोसहस्रफलं लभेत् ।
जातिमात्रह्रदे स्नात्वा भवेज्जातिस्मरो नरः ॥३६॥
36. sarvadevahrade snātvā gosahasraphalaṁ labhet ,
jātimātrahrade snātvā bhavejjātismaro naraḥ.

36. By bathing in the lake of all gods, one obtains the merit of giving a thousand cows. By bathing in the Jātimātra lake, a person would become one who remembers previous lives.
