महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-47, verse-87

ते चेदस्मान्युध्यमानाञ्जयेयुर्देवैरपीन्द्रप्रमुखैः सहायैः ।
धर्मादधर्मश्चरितो गरीयानिति ध्रुवं नास्ति कृतं न साधु ॥८७॥
87. te cedasmānyudhyamānāñjayeyu;rdevairapīndrapramukhaiḥ sahāyaiḥ ,
dharmādadharmaścarito garīyā;niti dhruvaṁ nāsti kṛtaṁ na sādhu.
87. te cet asmān yudhyamānān jayeyuḥ
devaiḥ api indrapramukhaiḥ sahāyaiḥ
dharmāt adharmaḥ caritaḥ garīyān
iti dhruvam na asti kṛtam na sādhu
87. If they (the Pāṇḍavas), with the gods led by Indra as their allies, were to defeat us who are fighting, then indeed unrighteousness (adharma) would prevail over natural law (dharma). In such a case, certainly, no good deed could ever be accomplished.
