महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-47, verse-29

यदा द्रष्टा बालमबालवीर्यं द्विषच्चमूं मृत्युमिवापतन्तम् ।
सौभद्रमिन्द्रप्रतिमं कृतास्त्रं तदा युद्धं धार्तराष्ट्रोऽन्वतप्स्यत् ॥२९॥
29. yadā draṣṭā bālamabālavīryaṁ; dviṣaccamūṁ mṛtyumivāpatantam ,
saubhadramindrapratimaṁ kṛtāstraṁ; tadā yuddhaṁ dhārtarāṣṭro'nvatapsyat.
29. yadā draṣṭā bālam abālavīryam dviṣat
camūm mṛtyum iva āpatantam
saubhadram indrapratimam kṛtāstram tadā
yuddham dhārtarāṣṭraḥ anvatapsyat
29. When he (Dhṛtarāṣṭra or Duryodhana) would see the young (Abhimanyu), possessing immense valor, attacking the enemy army like death itself, that son of Subhadrā (Abhimanyu), comparable to Indra and skilled in weaponry, then Dhṛtarāṣṭra would lament the war.
