महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-47, verse-35

रणे हते कौरवाणां प्रवीरे शिखण्डिना सत्तमे शंतनूजे ।
न जातु नः शत्रवो धारयेयुरसंशयं सत्यमेतद्ब्रवीमि ॥३५॥
35. raṇe hate kauravāṇāṁ pravīre; śikhaṇḍinā sattame śaṁtanūje ,
na jātu naḥ śatravo dhārayeyu;rasaṁśayaṁ satyametadbravīmi.
35. raṇe hate kauravāṇām pravīre śikhaṇḍinā sattame śaṃtanūje na
jātu naḥ śatravaḥ dhārayeyuḥ asaṃśayam satyam etat bravīmi
35. When Bhīṣma, the greatest hero among the Kauravas and the most excellent son of Śaṃtanu, is killed in battle by Śikhaṇḍin, our enemies will certainly never be able to resist us. I declare this truth without a doubt.
