वधे धृतो वेगवतः प्रमुञ्चन्नाहं प्रजाः किंचिदिवावशिष्ये ।
शान्तिं लप्स्ये परमो ह्येष भावः स्थिरो मम ब्रूहि गावल्गणे तान् ॥१०१॥

101. vadhe dhṛto vegavataḥ pramuñca;nnāhaṁ prajāḥ kiṁcidivāvaśiṣye ,
śāntiṁ lapsye paramo hyeṣa bhāvaḥ; sthiro mama brūhi gāvalgaṇe tān.

101. O Gavalgaṇa, tell them: 'If I, determined upon destruction, releasing swift weapons, do not leave even a small portion of living beings (prajāḥ) remaining, I shall (then) obtain peace. For this is indeed my supreme and firm purpose (bhāva).'
