महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-47, verse-8

तैश्चेद्युद्धं मन्यते धार्तराष्ट्रो निर्वृत्तोऽर्थः सकलः पाण्डवानाम् ।
मा तत्कार्षीः पाण्डवार्थाय हेतोरुपैहि युद्धं यदि मन्यसे त्वम् ॥८॥
8. taiścedyuddhaṁ manyate dhārtarāṣṭro; nirvṛtto'rthaḥ sakalaḥ pāṇḍavānām ,
mā tatkārṣīḥ pāṇḍavārthāya heto;rupaihi yuddhaṁ yadi manyase tvam.
8. taiḥ cet yuddham manyate dhārtarāṣṭraḥ
nirvṛttaḥ arthaḥ sakalaḥ pāṇḍavānām
mā tat kārṣīḥ pāṇḍavārthāya
hetoḥ upaihi yuddham yadi manyase tvam
8. If Dhṛtarāṣṭra anticipates a war with them, then the entire purpose of the Pāṇḍavas is accomplished. Do not undertake that (war) for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas. Instead, engage in battle if you yourself consider it proper.
