अज्ञानतः कर्मयोनिं भजन्ते तां तां राजंस्ते यथा यान्त्यभावम् ।
तथा वर्णा ज्ञानहीनाः पतन्ते घोरादज्ञानात्प्राकृतं योनिजालम् ॥८८॥

88.
O King, just as those who, due to ignorance, pursue various paths of action (karma) ultimately come to naught, similarly, the social classes (varṇas) devoid of true knowledge fall into a terrible cycle of material births because of profound ignorance.
