प्राणशक्तौ निरुद्धायां मनो राम विलीयते ।
द्रव्यच्छायानु तद्द्रव्यं प्राणरूपं हि मानसम् ॥ ८३ ॥

83. O Rāma, when the vital energy (prāṇa) is restrained, the mind (manas) dissolves. Indeed, the mind (manas) is of the nature of prāṇa, just as a shadow follows its substance.
