अवस्त्विदमिदं वस्तु यस्येति लुलितं मनः ।
तस्मिन्नोदेति समता शाखोट इव मञ्जरी ॥ २४ ॥

24.
For one whose mind (manas) is agitated (lulita) by the distinction 'this is unreal' and 'this is real', equanimity (samatā) does not arise in that (mind), just as a blossom (mañjarī) does not sprout (on) a tree stump (śākhoṭa).
