शुभसंवीक्षिते जातो राजा भवति निश्चितः ॥९॥

9. kārakāṃśe śubhe vipra lagnāṃśe ca śubhagrahe .

O Brahmin (vipra)! If the *kāraka* (significator) *amsha* is auspicious, and there is an auspicious planet (śubhagraha) in the *lagna* (ascendant) *amsha* which is also aspected by an auspicious planet, then the native certainly becomes a king.
