बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-33, verse-9

कारकांशे शुभे विप्र लग्नांशे च शुभग्रहे ।
शुभसंवीक्षिते जातो राजा भवति निश्चितः ॥९॥
9. kārakāṃśe śubhe vipra lagnāṃśe ca śubhagrahe .
śubhasaṃvīkṣite jāto rājā bhavati niścitaḥ.
9. kāraka aṃśe śubhe vipra lagna aṃśe ca śubha grahe
śubha saṃvīkṣite jātaḥ rājā bhavati niścitaḥ
9. O Brahmin (vipra)! If the *kāraka* (significator) *amsha* is auspicious, and there is an auspicious planet (śubhagraha) in the *lagna* (ascendant) *amsha* which is also aspected by an auspicious planet, then the native certainly becomes a king.
