मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-21, verse-84

क्षणेन पातालतलमसिखक्त्यृष्टिशायकैः ।
छिन्नैः सञ्छन्नमभवदृतध्वजशरोत्करैः ॥८४॥
84. kṣaṇena pātālatalamasikhaktyṛṣṭiśāyakaiḥ .
chinnaiḥ sañchannamabhavadṛtadhvajaśarotkaraiḥ.
84. kṣaṇena pātālatalam asikhaktyṛṣṭiśāyakaiḥ
chinnaiḥ sañchannam abhavat ṛtadhvajaśarotkaraiḥ
84. In an instant, the surface of the netherworld (Pātāla) became completely covered with the severed swords, khakti weapons, spears, and arrows (of the demons), as well as with heaps of arrows from Ṛtadhvaja.
