मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-21, verse-36

पातालकेतुर्दुष्टात्मा वाराहं वपुरास्थितः ।
केनापि विद्धो बाणेन मुनीनां त्राणकारणात् ॥३६॥
36. pātālaketurduṣṭātmā vārāhaṃ vapurāsthitaḥ .
kenāpi viddho bāṇena munīnāṃ trāṇakāraṇāt.
36. pātālaketuḥ duṣṭātmā vārāham vapuḥ āsthitaḥ
kenāpi viddhaḥ bāṇena munīnām trāṇakāraṇāt
36. The wicked-souled Pātālaketu, who had assumed the form of a boar, was struck by an arrow by someone, for the protection of the sages.
