मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-10, verse-96

यो लोभादधमो जात्या जीवेदुत्कृष्टकर्मभिः ।
तं राजा निर्धनं कृत्वा क्षिप्रमेव प्रवासयेत ॥९६॥
96. yo lobhādadhamo jātyā jīvedutkṛṣṭakarmabhiḥ ,
taṁ rājā nirdhanaṁ kṛtvā kṣiprameva pravāsayet.
96. yaḥ lobhāt adhamaḥ jātyā jīvet utkṛṣṭa-karmabhiḥ
tam rājā nirdhanam kṛtvā kṣipram eva pravāsayet
96. yaḥ jātyā adhamaḥ lobhāt utkṛṣṭa-karmabhiḥ jīvet
tam rājā nirdhanam kṛtvā kṣipram eva pravāsayet
96. The one who, out of greed, though of an inferior social class (jāti) by birth, lives by the occupations (karma) of a superior class, him the king should quickly make penniless and then banish.
