महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-5, verse-52

अकुर्वन्वचनं तस्य नूनं शोचति मे सुतः ।
तदिदं समनुप्राप्तं वचनं दीर्घदर्शिनः ॥५२॥
52. akurvanvacanaṁ tasya nūnaṁ śocati me sutaḥ ,
tadidaṁ samanuprāptaṁ vacanaṁ dīrghadarśinaḥ.
52. akurvan vacanam tasya nūnam śocati me sutaḥ
tat idam samanupprāptam vacanam dīrghadarśinaḥ
52. tasya vacanam akurvan me sutaḥ nūnam śocati
tat idam dīrghadarśinaḥ vacanam samanupprāptam
52. My son, certainly grieves for not following his (Bhishma's) instruction. Indeed, this very word of the far-sighted one has now come to pass.
