महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-5, verse-3

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
श्रुत्वा कर्णस्य निधनमश्रद्धेयमिवाद्भुतम् ।
भूतसंमोहनं भीमं मेरोः पर्यसनं यथा ॥३॥
3. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
śrutvā karṇasya nidhanamaśraddheyamivādbhutam ,
bhūtasaṁmohanaṁ bhīmaṁ meroḥ paryasanaṁ yathā.

3. Vaiśampāyana said: "Upon hearing of Karna's death – which was astonishing, almost unbelievable, terrifying, like a great delusion falling upon all beings, or indeed, like the overturning of Mount Meru itself – (Dhṛtarāṣṭra reacted in a certain way)."
