महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-85, verse-88

अर्जुनस्त्वेव वार्ष्णेय पीडितो बहुभिर्युधि ।
प्रजह्यात्समरे प्राणांस्तस्माद्विन्दामि कश्मलम् ॥८८॥
88. arjunastveva vārṣṇeya pīḍito bahubhiryudhi ,
prajahyātsamare prāṇāṁstasmādvindāmi kaśmalam.

prajahyāt samare prāṇān tasmāt vindāmi kaśmalam

samare prāṇān prajahyāt tasmāt kaśmalam vindāmi
88. O Vārṣṇeya, if Arjuna, oppressed by many in battle, were to abandon his life in combat, then I would experience deep distress (kaśmala).
