अपर्यन्ते बले मग्नो जह्यादपि च जीवितम् ।
तस्मिंश्च निहते युद्धे कथं जीवेत मादृशः ।
सर्वथाहमनुप्राप्तः सुकृच्छ्रं बत जीवितम् ॥७९॥
तस्मिंश्च निहते युद्धे कथं जीवेत मादृशः ।
सर्वथाहमनुप्राप्तः सुकृच्छ्रं बत जीवितम् ॥७९॥
79. aparyante bale magno jahyādapi ca jīvitam ,
tasmiṁśca nihate yuddhe kathaṁ jīveta mādṛśaḥ ,
sarvathāhamanuprāptaḥ sukṛcchraṁ bata jīvitam.
tasmiṁśca nihate yuddhe kathaṁ jīveta mādṛśaḥ ,

79.
One (a person) overwhelmed by a boundless army would indeed abandon his very life. And when that great warrior (Drona) is slain in battle, how could one like me survive? Alas, I have certainly attained a very miserable existence.
